Check Out Pictures from Paradoka’s Vision Night Party & A Guide to Making Your Own Vision Board Below
In 2008 I was introduced to the Law of Attraction by a friend of mine and I have been hooked ever since! Every year around January or February I find myself collecting all the magazines I would have collected throughout the previous year and updating or creating a new vision board.
So you are probably wondering what a vision board is and why Paradoka made such a fuss about it, right?
A vision board is a tool used to help clarify, concentrate and maintain focus on a specific life goal/goals. Literally, a vision board is any sort of board on which you display images that represent whatever you want to be, do or have in your life.
Vision boards are based on the Law of Attraction (The law of attraction is the name given to the maxim “like attracts like” which is used to sum up the idea that by focusing on positive or negative thoughts a person brings positive or negative experiences into their life) The idea that your mode of thinking directly affects what the universe gives you. If you put positive mental energy into the universe, you’ll be the recipient of positive outcomes.

Here is how we made our #PC4W Vision Boards
You’ll need these supplies:
– Poster board. (We however made our own DIY Poster Board with ordinary cardboard boxes and bought coloured paper at Long Chen Mall to cover the cardboard so they look neat, a stack of 30 coloured papers was $1.80 )
– A big stack of different magazines. (We bought magazines at the magazine stall opposite Barclays Bank at the corner of Jason Moyo Avenue and First Street in Harare. Each magazine was going for $1)
_ Paper Scissors ($0.70 from OK Supermarket)
– Paper Glue/Glue Sticks (We got our stash from OK Supermarket for around $1.50 ).
Get your girls together, some soft music and a bottle or two of good wine and you are ready to host your own vision board party
Go through your magazines and cut the images that represent the things you desire or want to achieve from them. Don’t glue it to the board just yet! Also cut out words or headlines that strike at your heart .
Sort through the pictures and words you cut out, begin to lay your favorites on the board. Remove the images that no longer feel right or you don’t connect with. Trust your intuition. The easiest to layout the board is to divide it into 7/8 areas, we divided our boards into;
- Personal Development
Glue everything onto the board. You can paint on it, or write words with markers. Make sure to leave some space in the center of the vision board so you can add a radiant and happy photo of yourself.
Then hang your vision board in a place where you will see it often, preferably where you see it when you wake up in the morning and in the evening before you sleep.
