Ladies can i preach….? (I’m sure after this post, I’m going to have a tonne of ladies who like me….lol. Be sure to share this one with your brother friends…who are always complaining about ladies who just want a ‘sorted man’.)
I am intrigued by the story of the Queen of Sheba’s visit to Solomon.
Among many things about this visit, i love a few things the bible points out about what intrigued The Queen of Sheba, and i want to believe these are basic bible principles about what woman usually ‘subconsciously’ See or Notice…without much effort, when they first look at a Man.
The Bible says:
1. “When the Queen of Sheba heard of Solomon’s fame, which brought honor to the Lord…”
Okay…here’s the thing……we can’t dispute the fact that it was Solomon’s fame that even made the Queen notice Solomon. Her attention was drawn by the fact that this man was well-known and that many people were talking about him, his many exploits, his achievements and his wisdom. Guys must learn something from that.
2. “When she met with Solomon, she talked with him about everything she had on her mind”
The mere fact that she could confide in Solomon and that Solomon had an ear to listen, intrigues me. No wonder this woman was impressed…! Any woman would want a man who stops chatting on whatsapp, switches off the TV and just listens to her. Not just the listening for the sake of ‘Duty’, but listening for the sake of ‘interest’ and genuine ‘concern’.
3. “Solomon had answers for all her questions; nothing was too hard for the king to explain to her.”
Tell me one woman who does not want a man with the answers to all her problems, her questions, and all the subjects running in her head.(Give me her ID number too so I can confirm if she really exists…hahaha)
4. “…When she saw the palace he had built…..she was overwhelmed.”
The fact of the matter is that a woman cannot be blind to what a man owns and had achieved. Gentleman, if you still own nothing and she still said yes to you, i can safely guarantee you that it’s because she knows you have a plan, and you have shared your vision with her…which she has bought into. By nature, woman notice these things. Don’t be naïve and think we don’t.
5. “…She was also amazed at the food on his table….”
Don’t get it twisted yall….a woman needs a well prepared table. Not only does she want to be dined, but when i really try to look at this scripture with the eyes of the spirit and with depth, the issue is actually about ‘provision’, and the knowledge that this man can fend for me and my children to come.
6. “….She was amazed at the organisation of his officials…”
It does not surprise me at all that Queen of Sheba noticed Solomon’s leadership ability. His ability to organize his army and the hold that he had on his subordinates. Any woman wants a man that can take the forefront and lead.
7. “….and his splendid clothing…”
Guys, please invest some time in actually cleaning up. (for real…for real). It does you good service to take time with your Beard. Don’t be afraid to brush your teeth. Hey bro, get a cologne. Buy a couple of decent fashion pieces. Image is key…in business, in Media…at interviews…why don’t you think it matters in relationships? Don’t make it hard for her to introduce you to her friends dearly beloved brother.
8. “…and the burnt offering Solomon made in the temple…”
The kind of sacrifices a man makes for his family, for his sisters, for his friends is always something women notice. It shows that he is responsible and that he understands his role as a man. Not only in the physical but also his sacrifice to his God is a must watch. Check him out a little. Does he withhold sacrifice even on his own God.
And i notice that as soon as the Queen of Sheba had noticed all these, praise came naturally from her.
She adored Solomon and spoke very admirably of him. She even went on to acknowledge Solomon’s God by saying:
“Praise the Lord your God, who delights in you and placed you on the throne of Israel.”
So next time a fellow guy friend starts to undermine what women hold important, just refer them to ‘Queen S’……hahahaha.
You are blessed!
